About

The Nordic Red Blood Cell Group (NRBCG) is a scientific and educational organization dedicated to improving the management of red blood cell diseases, including thalassemia and sickle cell disease, while facilitating related research. Founded in 2024, the NRBCG includes all Nordic countries and aims to improve management of red blood cell disorders.

The organization is supported by Thalassemia International Federation.

National and regional coordinators ensure that expertise in red blood cell diseases is accessible to all patients, regardless of their location. The NRBCG is open to all health care professionals with an interest in these conditions.

The NRBCG website serves as a resource for study group members and Nordic hematologists, offering basic information for patients. Public sections of the website include contact information and brief descriptions of ongoing research protocols in the Nordic countries.

Annual NRBCG meetings, as well as national and international events relevant to red blood cell diseases, will be announced on the website.
